Our day in London

Thank you to Britta for taking us to the airport. We flew with Air Canada to Ottawa and then overnight to Heathrow in London. We decided to spend the day at Kew Gardens (since it wasn't raining).

This little European robin joined us for lunch on the terrace of the cafe. The cherry blossoms were at their peak. We toured the palm house (seen below) and the water lily palace and a Japanese wood framed house that had been moved to London as a gift. In fron of the Palm House are a series of mythic statues from various coats of arms. The photo is of the Griffin of Edward III. We though Britta and Donny would find the bridge Sheila is standing on below interesting. It appears to be made of brass but is likely coated. We left in time to catch our British Airways flight to Cape Town. As I said in my BBM message it is a total zoo.
